"Take THAT Mr. Barnaby!"....."Fuck you McCarthy."

So my friend has a metaphor for the limbo that is the Friend Zone. He says that when you are in the friend zone, or trying to get a girls attention you are on a boat with a paddle going up stream. The boat and the paddle symbolizing the tactics used to get the girl, the stream being the difficulty and finally getting to shore symbolizes the girl and the relationship with said girl.

Now once upon a time, there were four of us in this boat. We were all going after a different girl but we were having the same struggle, so we said we were all in the same boat. Now one of us said Fuck it and jumped out, symbolizing they gave up with trying to get the girl. One of us was Ejected from the boat, symbolizing the girl got another boyfriend. One of us jumped out, swam around for a second and got back in, symbolizing that he gave up looked around, found nothing else and went back to trying to get the last girl. And the last of us has stayed in the boat for about four months, symbolizing that he hasn't given up. Now this metaphor makes sense to me, but I had a better metaphor concerning girls and related to boats.

You're standing on a Cruise ship, now this ship has multiple rooms on it, ranging from Suites all the way down to the crews quarters. Now each room symbolizes a girl, a suite is a celebrity or royalty, or someone so good that its utterly impossible to get, the common area or the normal guest area is every normal girl that is in life, from the girl next door to some girl from work or school. Now the crews quarters is where it gets messy, this area of the ship includes all the skanks, easy girls, hookers, girls that are desperate moves, and pretty much anyone that is very simple to get.

Now the trick is, you have access to all these doors, it just depends on who lets you in. You just have to find the right door, except for the crews quarters, which can easily be broken into. So the struggle is trying to get the door unlocked in a respectful manner. Also I think my metaphor covers multiple girls at once, cause I know most of us aren't going after just one girl, we test out a few and see which one we like the best and which one likes us.

My friends metaphor refers to only one girl at a time, which, aside from him, not most of us do. Now I give him props for holding on as long as he has on the tiny rowboat, but I'm trying to get him to take a trip on the Cruise ship, give him more options since the shore he's rowing too, is on Skanks Isle.
